The mother of a child allegedly strangled to death by her boyfriend was back in court Tuesday after FaceTiming one of her other children.
ABC21 previously reported 28-year old Crystal Belcher was arrested after her daughter Jocelyn died back in January. Emergency crews responded to the 200 block of East Butler Street on reports of an issue with a 2-year-old child. The child, identified as Jocelyn Dawn Rana Belcher, 2 of Fort Wayne, died and the coroner ruled the death as a homicide.

When police arrived at the residence to serve a warrant for Crystal Belcher, she was not at home. She ended up pulling into the driveway and police took her into custody. She was preliminarily charged with neglect of a dependent and neglect of a dependent causing serious bodily injury.
On Tuesday, Belcher was back in court after being taken into custody for a hearing to revoke bond. Belcher, who has three other children, was found to have FaceTimed with one of the children, violating her no-contact order. Defense asked for a continuance, and there is a new trial date for January 15-17 of 2019.
Her boyfriend, Shane Patton, is still on the run. He is wanted on charges of neglect of a dependent and neglect of a dependent causing serious bodily injury. The charges come after police identified Patton as a person of interest in Jocelyn’s death.
Patton is a white man standing 5’9" tall. He weighs approximately 200 pounds and has brown eyes and brown hair. Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Shane Allen Patton is being asked to call the department’s non-emergency line at 427-1222 to report his location.
