FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) – An emotional homecoming, after New Haven Junior Faith Kahlenbeck, saw her brother in person for the first time in about two years.
Private First Class Brandon Needler, a New Haven High School graduate, now serves in the U.S. Army.
He was stationed in South Korea, but is back for his other sister’s wedding.
His sister Kehlenbeck, asked her parents to miss school to help out with her sister’s rehearsal, but they wouldn’t let her.
That’s because there was a big surprise in store Friday afternoon during her lunch hour.
She was finally reunited with her brother once again, and she had no idea it was coming.
"I was so excited my heart dropped! I just felt so relieved that he’s home with us for my sister’s wedding and gets tot spend time with us," Kehlenbeck told our crew.
Needler responded, "I was actually nervous because I was like, hopefully it would work out as planned – that she wouldn’t have suspected anything, but it actually worked out nicely."
