FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) –Dogs of all shapes and sizes will be taking over the Memorial Coliseum for the next five days for the return of the Old Fort Cluster Dog Show.
In 2017 the show had more than 4,800 entries representing 150 different breeds This year, they expect it to be even bigger.
The show is expected to be so big in fact they added an extra day to this year’s show, expanding from four days to five.
The show is sponsored by Purina and is AKC sanctioned, with dogs from their show regularly going on to compete in the famed Westminster Dog Show.
For the competitors who keep coming back year after year, they say it’s for much more than just the dog show itself.
“The people, people are so friendly everybody just gets along, the comradery, the things to do the city itself,” Brenda Mills said. “There’s lots to do here, so, after the show there’s great places to go to eat, thats why we like to come here.”
The show runs daily from 8 am to 5 pm from Wednesday through Sunday November 4. Tickets are $5 for adults and kids get in free with a donation to the Pet Food Pantry of Fort Wayne.
