Fort Wayne photographer shares moments behind the lens of the 41st President

FORT WAYNE. Ind. (WPTA21) – A globally recognized photographer that was born and raised in Fort Wayne shared his experiences of capturing iconic moments of the 41st President.

Peter Turnley was born and raised in Fort Wayne. He later moved to France to begin his career as a photographer.

Turnley’s career took him to more than 90 countries across the globe and eventually opened doors to meeting the 41st President.

Turnley followed Mr. Bush and captured iconic moments of the 41st President.

Through his own lens, he said he especially remembered Mr. Bush for his honor, dignity and most importantly, his kindness and devotion to his country.

“I always perceived he was a decent kind man,” Turnley said. “His gestures, the way he spoke to people, his laughter, I could tell he had a good sense of humor.”
