UPDATE: 5-year-old found safe after AMBER Alert issued

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) – UPDATE: Fort Wayne Police say 5-year-old Leanna Herron has been found safe after being taken from her apartment at gunpoint. Police say her non-custodial father, Zyair Herron is in custody.

Police say they were found in Indianapolis around 7 p.m. Saturday.

PREVIOUS: Fort Wayne police on Saturday evening issued an AMBER Alert for a 5-year-old girl they believed to be “in extreme danger.”

The victim, Leanna Nicole Herron, is black, 4-feet tall, weighs 69 pounds and has brown hair with brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a gray sweat suit with white stripes and black and white Nikes.

Leanna was last seen on Saturday about 3 p.m. in Fort Wayne and was believed to be in extreme danger.

The suspect, Zyair Jalinc Herron, is a 26-year-old black man. He is 5-feet 9-inches tall, weighs 165 pounds, and has black hair with brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a red and black sweat suit, black boots and has a gold grill over his teeth and ZAMIRAH tattooed on the left side of his neck.

Herron was driving an older Silver Chevy Malibu with black rims and a temporary paper plate.
