City Councilman outlies strategies to combat opioid crisis

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) — A City Councilman that is running for Mayor spoke on what he calls the biggest problem facing the city: the opioid crisis.

Doctor John Crawford, hosted the press conference talking about strategies he would try to implement to fight the crisis if he were elected mayor.

Crawford presented a number of statistics about drug seizures, overdoses, and medical costs and says the opioid epidemic is a drain on the economy and resident’s quality of life.

Crawford is encouraging Mayor Tom Henry to allocate at least $500,000 from the city budget to fund more treatment facilities for people who need help.
