FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) — People looking to shop locally can check out the Farmers Market beginning Saturday.
The South Side Farmers Market is entering into its 93rd year in business. This organization looks to share information on the best selection and storage methods of various fresh, locally grown produce. Farmers are also happy to share methods of preparing produce, as well as favorite recipes.
The season begins on April 20 and runs through December 21. During the season, people can check out the market in the 3300 block of Warsaw St. from 7 am until 1 pm on every Saturday.
Vendors bring their goods to the market. Organizers say fresh, locally grown produce continues to be a big attraction, but hormone-free pork and poultry and fresh eggs have been available year-round for the past few years.
