Dentistry event shared nearly $1M in services at no charge

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) – A clinic offering free dental care earlier this month racked up some impressive numbers.

It was the third such event hosted by Indiana Mission of Mercy (MoM), a confederation of health care professionals who turned the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum Expo Center into a giant dental office for two days in May.

In all, 1,042 patients received dental care valued at $927,000. Volunteers completed nearly 5,500 procedures during the event.

Those treated included adults and children. Services rendered ranged from cleanings and X-rays to extractions and fillings.
