Snider’s Hamlin, South’s 4×400 win state championships

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WPTA21) — SAC track teams picked up a couple huge wins for Fort Wayne at the boys track and field state meet at Indiana University.

Snider’s Jesse Hamlin took home the title in the 3200 meter run, with a winning time of 9:04.69. Concordia’s Reece Gibson finished third in the event, and Homestead’s Ryan Ruppert placed fourth.

South Side claimed a state title in the 4×400 meter relay. The group of Preshawn Boyd, Kaiden Long, Deamond Talton, and Omar Jackson won in 3:17.19.

Churubusco’s Sam Wood earned runner-up honors in the pole vault, clearing 15’9″.

North Central earned a narrow victory for the team state championship, beating second-place Pike by one point.
