COLUMBUS, Ohio (WPTA21) — A plan to save Ohio ratepayers $1.3 billion over the next nine years is on its way to the Governor’s desk
House Bill 6 would reduce the average residential ratepayer $3.78 per month by 2028 by phasing out electric mandates in favor of a flat charge.
Ohio House Speaker Larry Householder says the legislation will also support zero-carbon electricity generation from sources including nuclear and large-scale solar installations.
The legislation passed the House of Representatives with a 51-38 vote. It now goes to Governor Mike DeWine for his signature.
