FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) — A Fort Wayne man who admitted to his role in a 5-year-old boy’s death learned his sentence Friday.
Daniel Pope was in court Friday for his sentencing hearing. ABC21 previously reported Pope pleaded guilty to aggravated battery in exchange for the murder charge to be dropped.
On Friday, Pope was sentenced to 40 years, with 15 years suspended. He will spend 25 years behind bars and another 5 years on probation.
