3Rivers branch robbed for second time in as many weeks

UPDATE: Police have captured the individual suspected of committing both crimes. He was taken into custody along U.S. 24 just across the Ohio border.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) – For the second time this month, someone has robbed a credit union branch in the 5700 block of YMCA Park Drive in Fort Wayne.

The latest crime took place late Tuesday afternoon at the 3Rivers Federal Credit Union office, which is located near the intersection of St. Joe Center and Maplecrest roads.

Last Thursday, someone presented a threatening note to a teller at the same location and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

That robber was described as a man in his 50s or 60s with red hair and a goatee. He is believed to be about 6-feet tall and weighs about 250 pounds.

No weapon was shown in either instance.
