FWPD responds to shooting on Gaywood Drive

UPDATE: Two people — a man and a woman — were injured in the shooting. They were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) – Police and medical crews were responding to a report of a shooting Friday evening on the south side of Fort Wayne.

Officials confirmed that they received calls of a shooting incident in the 4500 block of Gaywood Drive. That’s between Lafayette Street and South Anthony Blvd., a few blocks from Abbett Elementary School.

The reported shooting happened about 6 p.m.
