TinCaps blanked at South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WPTA21) – The TinCaps managed just five hits, three of them by Blake Hunt, in taking a 3-0 loss at South Bend Saturday night.

The loss dropped The TinCaps six games behind the Cubs in their pursuit of the final second half Midwest League Eastern Division playoff spot with just 22 games remaining.

The Cubs scored twice in the second inning on a sacrifice fly and an RBI double by Luis Vasquez, and they added a run in the eighth on a passed ball by Hunt.

South Bend pitcher Riley Thompson was ejected in the fourth inning when umpires found an illegal element in his glove.
