Man critical after Kosciusko crash

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – A man was flown to a Fort Wayne hospital after a crash in Kosciusko County.

It happened late Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of State Road 14 at CR 600 W.

The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s office says a Chrysler Sebring sedan crossed the center line and smashed into a Jeep Wrangler. The passenger riding in the front of the the sedan, identified as 23-year-old Austin Collins of Mentone, was flown to the hospital with head injuries. He was listed in critical condition as of 7:00pm.

A woman in the back of the sedan, 56-year-old Rita Collins of Mentone was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Anthony Collins, 22, of Silver Lake, was also taken to the hospital by ambulance.

The driver of the Jeep, David Kintzel of Akron, was not hurt.

Police are looking into what caused the sedan to veer into oncoming traffic.
