NOBLE COUNTY, Ind. (WPTA21) — Conservation officers are investigating a fatal off-road vehicle accident Thursday night.
The Indiana Department of Natural Resources’ Law Enforcement Division sad the crash happened at the intersection of 600 S and Old 102 near Columbia City.
Crews headed to the area just after 9 pm Thursday on a report of an accident. When they arrived, they found 61-year-old Kenneth Stroud unresponsive in the roadway. He was flown to a Fort Wayne hospital where he later died.
The department said an initial investigation indicates Stroud was driving recklessly in the intersection and lost control. He was ejected from the machine, which rolled over on top of him.
Stroud was not wearing a helmet or protective riding gear at the time of the accident.
