Allegations against Heritage Junior/Senior H.S. teacher turned over to sheriff’s department
MONROEVILLE, Ind. (WPTA21) – The Allen County Sheriff’s Department will investigate allegations of misconduct involving a Heritage Junior/Senior High School teacher who, district officials say, is no longer at the school.
The teacher is accused of inappropriate conduct with one or more females connected to the school.
East Allen County Schools corporation officials declined to confirm the identity of the teacher and would not discuss the matter with ABC21. The Allen County Sheriff’s Department also could not confirm his identity. No charges had been filed as of Monday afternoon.
Parents received notification via automated voice message, alerting them to the concerns and promising that the district was taking appropriate steps.
District officials provided the following statement to ABC21:
Last week, East Allen County Schools received an allegation that a teacher at Heritage Jr./Sr. High School had engaged in misconduct. EACS immediately informed the proper authorities of the allegations and began to investigate. The teacher is no longer employed by the District. EACS considers allegations of misconduct by a staff member to be a serious matter and will devote all appropriate resources to complete the investigation. In addition, EACS will fully cooperate with law enforcement. Ensuring the safety and well-being of every student in our District is our highest priority.
