Police respond to barricaded subject situation in Huntington

HUNTINGTON, Ind. (WPTA21) — A Garrett man wanted on several drug-related charges caused a nearly 5-hour-long barricaded subject incident Tuesday.

Indiana State Police responded to a home in the 1500 block of Canfield in Huntington Tuesday morning after they located Justin Crager.

When officers arrived, a woman told them the man was inside the home, armed. Several law enforcement crews, including a Fort Wayne SWAT unit, arrived to help with the situation.

Crestview Middle School and Flint Springs Elementary were placed on soft lockdown during the standoff due to their proximity to the scene.

The standoff ended shortly after noon when Crager, along with a woman and another man, were taken into custody. The schools resumed normal operation shortly afterward.
