Kaitlyn Kendall joined WPTA in May of 2018 and has most recently anchored the weekend news on its “Fort Wayne’s NBC” channel, while also reporting for the station.
Kaitlyn was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana where she attended the University of Indianapolis. There, she worked as Executive Director of Broadcasting, Producer, Anchor, and Reporter for UIndyTV.
In her new role, Kendall will co-anchor northeast Indiana’s only hour-long afternoon newscast, ABC21 News at 5. She will also lead the channel’s Digging Deeper team, which was recently honored with the National Edward R. Murrow Award for Investigative Reporting, the Emmy Award for Investigative Series, and accolades from the Society of Professional Journalists, Associated Press and the National Headliner Awards.
Kaitlyn completed three internships while in school at WTHR TV, WISH, and WLFI. She served as President of UIndy’s Society of Professional Journalists Chapter and National Broadcasting Society.
When Kaitlyn is not doing news she can be found performing on the stage. She has danced for 19 years and has been in numerous musical theater productions. Kaitlyn enjoys running, yes for fun, and reading a good book. She has a passion for learning and enjoys teaching others and helping them achieve their goals. Kaitlyn enjoys hanging out with friends, is a huge family person and loves being an aunt to four beautiful babies.
