Vacant home heavily damaged by early morning fire

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) — Fire crews responded to a vacant home early Monday morning after neighbors reported a fire.

The Fort Wayne Fire department said the house fire was reported in the 1400 block of Curdes Avenue just after 1 a.m. Monday. When crews arrived, they found the home fully involved in flames.

It took crews about 20 minutes from the time they arrived to bring the fire under control. No injuries were reported, but the home sustained heavy fire, water and smoke damage.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation as of the time of this report.
