Significant damage to vacant W. Packard house in Sunday fire, FWFD says

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) — An unoccupied home in the 1100 block of West Packard Ave. was significantly damaged in a fire on Sunday, officials say.

The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to the call about 12:30 p.m. and spent half an hour bringing the fire under control.

Their efforts focused largely on the upstairs and attic portions of the 2-story structure.

Nobody was believed to be living in the home and there were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
