The Rescue Mission asks you to skip a meal out to Help Change Hunger for Good

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) — The Rescue Mission is asking people to give up their lunch on Tuesday to help change hunger for good.

Organizers say in honor of National Homeless and Hunger Week, they’re challenging people to give up their lunch, and donate what they would have spent to the local mission.

They say it’s part of several events going on this week at the Rescue Mission. If you’re not wanting to give up a meal, there’s several other ways you can help make a difference.

“We can think in the month of November of all the blessings we have. Think about those who don’t have the, maybe the easier pathway of life we do. so how do we help them? We get involved. So volunteer with an organization. You can volunteer with the Rescue Mission, you can volunteer with countless other organizations in the community as well. that’s how we make a difference. That’s how we change lives for good.”                                                                         – Sam Hardy, Chief Operating Officer, The Rescue Mission
