Kaitlyn Kendall is a main anchor and chief investigative reporter for ABC21. She co-anchors northeast Indiana’s only hour-long afternoon newscast, ABC21 News at 5. She also leads the channel’s Digging Deeper team, which was recently honored with the National Edward R. Murrow Award for Investigative Reporting, the Emmy Award for Investigative Series, and accolades from the Society of Professional Journalists, Associated Press and the National Headliner Awards.
Kaitlyn joined WPTA in May of 2018 as a multi media journalist for both ABC21 and Fort Wayne's NBC. After 8 months into her journalism career Kaitlyn took on a new role as weekend anchor for Fort Wayne's NBC.
Kaitlyn was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana where she attended the University of Indianapolis. There, she worked as Executive Director of Broadcasting, Producer, Anchor, and Reporter for UIndyTV.
Kaitlyn completed three internships while in school at WTHR, WISH, and WLFI. She served as President for UIndy’s Society of Professional Journalists Chapter and National Broadcasting Society.
When Kaitlyn is not at work she can be found at home with her husband enjoying the newlywed life, or fulfilling her duties as a dog-mom to her golden doodle pup, Charlie. Kaitlyn enjoys running, yes for fun, and reading a good book. She has a passion for learning and enjoys teaching others and helping them achieve their goals. Kaitlyn enjoys hanging out with friends, is a huge family person and loves being an aunt to four beautiful babies.
