Lima Road reopens after serious crash

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) - One of the city's busiest corridors is open after a car hit a person Tuesday evening.

Fort Wayne police said the crash happened around 7:30. A person walking along Lima Road near Northbrook Boulevard was hit by a car and seriously hurt.

The scene is just south of the Dupont Road intersection. Traffic was restricted for a time, but all lanes are open to traffic again.

Police are working to understand what led to the crash.

It happened 24 hours after another serious crash in the city. On Monday night, a woman was hit by a Citilink bus while crossing Baker Street near the central bus terminal. Police are continuing to investigate.
