Christmas Day crash injures several people in Huntington County

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) - Several people are hurt after a serious crash involving two cars.

It happened around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of State Road 9 and West 900 North. A minivan and and SUV were involved. The force of the crash rolled the van onto its side. The SUV had heavy front-end damage.

Two medical helicopters and several ambulances responded. Firefighters set up a triage area to determine the extent of the injuries. At least one victim was trapped inside a car, said Huntington County Coroner Phil Zahm. There are no reports of deaths.

Authorities did not confirm the extent of the injuries at the time of publication, but we expect an update soon.
