Mastodon men, women beaten at North Dakota

GRAND FORKS, ND (WPTA21) - The Purdue Fort Wayne basketball men and women each dropped games Sunday at North Dakota, each after leading early.

Dylan Carl finished with a career-high 19 points, but the Mastodon men lost 83-69 to the homestanding Fighting Hawks.

Purdue Fort Wayne was up 27-24 with 3:56 left in the first before UND closed the half on a 13-4 run. The push continued for the Fighting Hawks in the second half and all told it was a 25-6 run that gave UND the lead for good.

North Dakota's Marlon Stewart had a game-high 29 points with nine boards and eight assists.

Jarred Godfrey had 13 points, Brian Patrick totaled 12 and DeMierre Black added 10 for Purdue Fort Wayne.

 Despite near double-doubles from Sh'Toya Sanders and Hannah Albrecht, the PFW women's basketball dropped a 91-85 decision at North Dakota on Sunday.

Sanders finished with a season-high 19 points and nine rebounds, while Albrecht had 23 points and a career-high nine assists.
