Coroner: Man found dead near tracks is the first homicide of 2020

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) - The man who railroad workers found dead near the tracks Tuesday morning was shot to death, the Allen County Coroner found.

Just after 9 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, railroad workers called police about a man down at Oxford Street and Meyer Road near the train tracks.

The coroner's office said a 40-year-old Marlon Lee Kimbrough, of Indianapolis, died from multiple gunshot wounds, and his death has been ruled a homicide.

At this point, police have not released his identity because they are working to contact the family.

His death marks the 1st homicide of the year.

Detectives say details are few at this point in the investigation, so they're asking the community for help.
