FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) - Firefighters and police were on the scene of a deadly car crash Thursday evening.
The crash happened around 7:45 in the northbound lanes of I-69 near Dupont Road.
Fort Wayne police say a car was traveling west on I-469 and exited onto the ramp to I-69 north. The car flipped over on the curve and slid across all three lanes on I-69 before smashing into the center median. The car came to rest on its top. A man was killed and two women were hurt. The women had to be freed from the crumpled car.
All northbound lanes of I-69 in the Dupont Road area were closed for several hours. The lanes returned to service at 10:20 p.m.
