An early morning shooting leaves one 8-year-old male in life threatening condition

FORT WAYNE, Ind.(WPTA21) - An 8-year-old male is in life-threatening condition due to a shooting that happened early Sunday morning.

At approximately 1:57 a.m., Fort Wayne Police responded to the 3200 block of Logan Avenue to a reference of a shooting.

Officers arrived to an 8-year-old male inside a home with an apparent gunshot wound to his shoulder/chest.

Police say the victim was inside the home when gunshots were fired outside the residence.

Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital in serious condition.

Authorities tell Fort Wayne's NBC News that upon arriving to the hospital, the victim's condition was changed to life-threatening.

No arrests have been made at this time.

This incident remains under investigation.
