FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) - A 19-year-old man was shot and killed Tuesday afternoon.

Fort Wayne Police dispatchers said officers responded to the 4200 block of Roseview Road at Woodview Manor Apartments around 3 p.m. to reports of a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police believe the shooting didn't happen there.

Instead, police believe it happened at Pontiac Street and Abbott Street.

Once gunfire broke out, police said the victim was in a vehicle that was headed toward the hospital, but they had to stop at the apartment complex to pick up a family member or friend.

They then stopped at Vance and Santa Lisa Court where medics took him to the hospital.

The victim died from their wounds.

If the coroner rules this fatal shooting a homicide, it would be the 2nd of the year.

Anyone in the area of Abbott and Pontiac is asked to review surveillance video and call the police if you have anything that could help the investigation.
