Mad Ants cut former NBA center Thabeet

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) -- Thursday evening the Mad Ants released center Hasheem Thabeet.

Thabeet played sparingly for the Ants this season, averaging just 4.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks over nine games.

Thabeet, the second overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, had hoped to use the G League as a launching pad for a return to the NBA.

The Mad Ants added Thabeet this offseason, after selecting him in the first round of the 2019 NBA G League Draft.
