FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) - Allen County Police released photos of firearms, drugs, and cash seized in a DEA investigation from earlier this week.

Two Fort Wayne men are facing federal charges in connection to the raid that happened on Monday on Spring Street in Fort Wayne.

During that raid, officers picked up 1 kilo of fentanyl, 1 pound of fentanyl pills, 19 pounds of meth, 2 ounces of cocaine, 22 grams of heroin, marijuana edibles, 11 firearms, 3 ballistic vests and more than $30,000 in cash.

Steven Hecke and Samuel Battel are both facing federal drug trafficking and firearm charges in connection with the seizure.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed in the case, prosecutors allege Hecke drove to a Chicago storage facility in early January, loaded up a five-gallon bucket into his pickup truck and then drove to Fort Wayne to a home investigators say was his "stash location."

Later on, Battell showed up to the Spring Street stash location in his pickup truck and briefly met with Hecke.

Officers watched Hecke and Battell walk out of the home carrying buckets when officers confronted them.

Court documents allege Battell had a pistol in his waistband and had a backpack with drugs inside at the time.

Hecke was previously convicted of cocaine trafficking, while Battell previously pleaded guilty to possession of meth charge in 2018.
