FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) - The FBI has joined the search for an armed man who held up a Waynedale bank on Christmas Eve.
Just before 8:30 a.m. on Christmas Eve, security footage captured the suspect pretending to use the ATM at the entrance of the Chase Bank at 2601 Lower Huntington Road.
After the first employee walked into the bank, the suspect forced the second employee into the bank at gunpoint, demanding the employee open the vault.
The suspect then forced the employees to lie face down on the floor, told them to count to 100 and told them not to look up or he would shoot them.
That's when the armed bandit ran out with money stuffed into a red duffel bag.
He made his getaway through the back door.
The suspect wore a black pea coat, a white and gray Under Armour baseball hat, and gloves.
He had a brown or reddish beard and a mustache.
The FBI said he may be driving a black van, possibly a Dodge Caravan.
Law enforcement said you should consider him armed and dangerous, so if you see him, call the FBI Indianapolis' Fort Wayne Resident Agency at 260-426-5331, or the Fort Wayne Police Department at 260-427-1262.
The FBI is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest or conviction.
