FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne's NBC) - A Fort Wayne woman faces a five-year sentence after police say she pushed and choked her child.

Alexis Ann Burda, 24, received a sentence of five years behind bars and two years of probation for her charges of battery and burglary.

Police say Burda's battery charge stems from an incident that happened back in August of 2019.

Burda's son told police she had pushed him to the ground several times and held him against the wall until he couldn’t breathe.
