FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) - Fort Wayne Police arrested a man who they say was involved in a shootout at a southside gas station earlier this week.

Bruce King, 41, is facing armed robbery, theft, and possession of a handgun by a serious violent felon charge in connection to the robbery that escalated into gunfire.

Just after 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, police were called out to an incident at the Sunoco gas station by the intersection of Holton Avenue and Oxford Street.

Police said the 19-year-old Drevyon Walton was with two other people when he was approached by the suspect. The man told him to hand over some items.

While this was going on, another person in his group walked out of the gas station saw what was going on.

Police said that's when shots were fired.

It's not clear at this point whether both parties shot at each other or not.

Police said all three men took off, and all were located by police.

Officers found the victim just a few blocks away on Reed Street. He suffered a cut and possible gunshot grace during the altercation.

Authorities also said the suspect had been shot and was taken to a local hospital for his non-life threatening injuries.
