FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) -- Fort Wayne Police say the man and woman found dead inside a home just south of downtown is a murder-suicide case.

Around noon Monday, officers were called to the 2000 block of Riedmiller Avenue to check up on 61-year-old Nathan Butler who hadn't been seen in a while.

Neighbors told police newspapers were piling up at the home.

When police arrived, they found two people dead inside the home.

The Allen County coroner's office said 48-year-old Donna Sue Taylor died from a gunshot wound. Her death was ruled a homicide.

The coroner's office said Butler was found inside the home with a self-inflictedgunshot wound to the head.

Sources close to the investigation believe Taylor's body had been inside the home for several weeks, while Butler had been dead for a couple of days, meaning he had lived in the home with her remains for a couple weeks.
