FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) - Fort Wayne Police Detectives believe they know the man responsible for the shooting death of a man who was found near the railroad tracks in January.

Fort Wayne Police issued a murder warrant for Sedrick Williams, 28, for the shooting death of Marlon Kimbrough.

On Jan. 7, railroad workers found the Indianapolis man on the railroad tracks just west of Meyer Road.

His death marked the city's first homicide of 2020.

Fort Wayne Police shared that Williams was a suspect early on in the investigation, and he was arrested just a short time after the homicide on an unrelated parole violation.

Later on, US Marshals arrested him, and he's been incarcerated since mid-January.

This gave Fort Wayne Police Homicide Detectives time to gather evidence to lead to his arrest.

Williams will be served the murder warrant and will eventually be brought back to Allen County to face that charge.
