Coroner IDs morning shooting victim as 21-year-old Fort Wayne man

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) - The Allen County Coroner's Office has identified the man who was shot and crashed his car into an apartment building Monday morning.

The Allen County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 21-year-old Ronnie Dontrell Hall.

He died from multiple gunshot wounds and his death was ruled Allen County's 14th homicide this year.

Just after 3:30 a.m., Fort Wayne Police Homicide Detectives were called out to the 3300 block of Timberhill Drive at Woodview Manor Apartments.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found a car had struck an apartment building.

Police said they found the driver of the car with an apparent gunshot wound. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but died a short time later.

Witnesses told police there was a second person in the vehicle that took off on foot.

Anshious Aron, 18, called Fort Wayne Police Dispatchers around 4 a.m. to report his involvement.

Officers were able to find him in the area of Mirro Drive and Dean Drive.

Police brought him in for questioning, and afterword, he was preliminarily charged with aggravated battery and battery with a deadly weapon.

This case is still under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department and anyone with information is asked to call the detectives at 260-427-1201 or Crime Stoppers at 260-436-STOP.
