FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) - On the day the Fort Wayne FC soccer club was to have played the opening game of its inaugural season, everything was done to mark the occasion, except for playing the game.

The team was introduced to a small group of fans who turned at Shields Field, which Fort Wayne FC will call its playing home. and posed for pictures in their home jerseys.

Head coach Mike Avery has assembled a team built to play good defense, the style he favors, but Avery acknowledges fans want to see scoring and high paced play and promised that will be provided as well.

Players have been invited back for what now will be their first season on the field in 2021, and most have said they will be back.
