Warmer temperatures have returned at last, and the heat will continue to ramp up through the holiday weekend!
A weather system bringing thunderstorms to northern Illinois will approach this evening. While a few showers and storms are possible, I expect most activity to dissipate and weaken as it moves east.
Warmer and more humid air moves in Sunday. Temperatures rise to the mid 80's and dew points rise well into the 60's. Skies remain mostly sunny and I expect most of us to stay dry. However, a stray thunderstorm can't be ruled out in the late afternoon and early evening.
The summerlike weather continues for much of next week with highs well in the 80's. However, the heat and humidity will also bring chances for scattered storms through much of the upcoming week, but no single day will be a total washout.
