Memorial Day typically marks the start of more summertime weather as community pools would normally begin opening for the summer. While these may be unusual times, Mother Nature seems to be bringing us summerlike weather right on schedule!

Temperatures soared into the upper 80's Sunday, and Memorial Day will bring us similar conditions. The day will start out mostly sunny and quite warm as temperatures enter the 70's. By the afternoon, highs will reach the upper 80's, with heat index values approaching the low 90's.

Thanks to a hot and humid air mass, pop-up "pulse" thunderstorms will be possible through much of the late afternoon and early evening. These storms will be widely scattered, and it is very possible that some will not see any rain whatsoever. This will be a great day to keep the ABC21 weather app handy, as you will want to keep an eye on the radar should any storms pop up! Severe weather is not expected.

A stagnant weather pattern will keep pop-up afternoon thunderstorms along with warm and humid conditions in place for much of the upcoming week. It looks like summer is certainly here!
