Hicks brings impressive resume to Indiana Tech women’s hockey program

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) -- The new women's hockey program at Indiana Tech will launch with an experienced, successful coach at its helm.

Tuesday, the university announced the hire of Scott Hicks as it's women's hockey head coach.

Hicks spent the last 10 years leading the women's team at Miami-Ohio, a top program in the ACHA.

During his time with the Redhawks, Hicks and his teams captured three Division I National Championships (2014, 2016, 2017). He was also named the National Coach of the Year twice (2014, 2018).

Hicks will officially start his new job on July 1, and recruit athletes throughout the upcoming school year. The Tech women's hockey team will begin competition during the 2021-22 school year.
