Jefferson Pointe management warns tenants about potential protest

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) - A letter sent from the mall management office at Jefferson Pointe to mall tenants warns about a potential protest on the property.

The letter says, "It has been brought to our attention than an organized protest is being planned for tomorrow (Tuesday, June 2nd) ... at Jefferson Pointe."

The letter explains management is taking precautions and will have extra security on the property. The letter also the Fort Wayne Police Department is aware of the situation. The FWPD also confirms with Fort Wayne's NBC News they are aware of potential for a protest.

We can report a sign at Von Mauer at Jefferson Pointe says, "Our store is temporarily closed. We apologize for the inconvenience."

The doors and windows are boarded up at that location.
