FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) -- Fort Wayne police are searching for suspects in a triple shooting overnight that killed a man in a home on the city's southeast side and wounded two other people.

"I thought I saw lights in the window, so I got up and peeked out the window and yeah, there was something going on out here," neighbor Curt Taritas says.

At about 1:15 Friday morning, police went to 5426 Werling Drive to investigate reports of shots fired.

They say a woman who'd called them about an argument inside the house met them outside, saying her son had been shot.

Kenneth Jerome Frierson II is the 21st homicide victim in Allen County this year.

Officers found 28-year-old Kenneth Jerome Frierson II in a bedroom who died there after having been shot several times.

Other people called 911 to say they'd heard shots and saw two people running from the area.

Police found 21-year-old Trenton Fye in a car near the intersection of Anthony and Pettit who'd also been shot.

Paramedics took him to the hospital in serious condition.

"Later on in the morning, just after 5 a.m., there was a third victim found in the 3300 block of Plaza. She was taken to a local hospital and we do believe they are all three involved in the same incident on Werling," says FWPD's Sgt. Sofia Rosales-Scatena.

That was 21-year-old Taya Brown.

She'd also been shot, and investigators are sorting out whether the three people shot each other in the home or whether someone else did.

Taritas says officers talked with him at about 1:30.

"Told them the same thing, no, I didn't hear anything about that time, I was sound asleep. And I was like, what's going on? And they said there was a shooting. And I'm like oh, wow! Right next door! Nice, you know?" he says.

"This is a real quiet block. We haven't had no problems on this block at all, so it's really kind of scary," Maxine Evans adds.

Detectives have been able to arrest suspects in recent homicides fairly quickly, and they're hoping people will come forward with what they know about this shooting that can help them piece information together.

"It is really, really scary nowadays. Don't know what this world is coming to," Taritas says.
