Pickup truck driver rolls truck; ejected from vehicle in weekend crash

GEN: Crash

STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (WPTA21) - Indiana State Police say a 24-year-old driver rolled his pickup truck and was thrown from the vehicle following a crash on Sunday.

Around 5:20 p.m. Sunday, ISP troopers were called to a wreck on CR 500 W north of CR 400 S near Hudson in Steuben County.

When officers arrived, they found a single Chevrolet pickup truck had rolled over on the east side of the road and had extensive damage.

Responding officers found the driver, Mitchell Musser, laying in the grass next to the pickup truck.

Police believe the driver lost control, left the road, went airborne, rolled and then ejected Musser from the cab.

Medics airlifted Musser to a Fort Wayne hospital for treatment.

Crash investigators believe excessive speed may be the primary factor in this crash.

Investigators said he wasn't wearing his seat belt.
