Coroner: 19-year-old shot and killed at large weekend party

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) - The Allen County Coroner's Office identified the young man shot and killed at a large party during the July 4th weekend.

Jalen Deandre Lindsey, 19, died from his wounds, and the coroner ruled his death the city's 23rd homicide this year.

Just past midnight Sunday, Fort Wayne Police were called out to a shooting at 5200 Corydon Court where there was a party of more than 100 young people.

Police said it appears that the homeowners were out of town.

When officers arrived they found a male victim lying in the grass near the street suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the chest.

The incident remains under investigation.
