Water main break forces boil order in LaGrange

LAGRANGE WATER MAIN BREAK

LAGRANGE, Ind. (WPTA21) - Some residents in LaGrange are under a boil water order due to a water main break.

While the water is now running in town, residents living in the 300 & 400 blocks of North Detroit Street; the 100 block of East Lake Street; the 300 & 400 blocks of North Poplar Street; and the 100 block of East Factory Street are advised to boil their water for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth and preparing food.

This order is in effect until further notice.

Town officials said in order to fix the water main break, the water had to be shut off.

When water mains lose pressure, it increases the chance that untreated water and harmful microbes can get in your water.

Officials said crews are working on the problem, and the boil water order may be in place for the next 3-5 days.
