FORT WAYNE Ind. (WPTA21) - Sunday is the last day to submit your art or cast your vote for the Chalk Walk at Home, hosted by the Fort Wayne Museum of Art and #ArtStartsHere.
Submissions and voting for Chalk Walk at Home will be over at the end of Sunday.
The Chalk Walk at Home allows Fort Wayne citizens to participate in the annual Chalk Walk as well as be part of creating the largest community art project in the region while still properly social distancing.
Using pastels, chalk, or other supplies, artists create their works of art on sidewalks for all of the public to see.
Votes will go towards the category of People's Choice while the other eight categories will be voted on by a judging panel.
The categories that you can submit your art are listed below.
- Best Use of a Street/Sidewalk Blemish
- Trompe l’oeil (fool the eye)
- Reproduce a Work From the FWMoA Collection
- Favorite Art Genre
- The Olympic Games
- 100th Anniversary of Women’s Vote
- Favorite Literary Character
- People's Choice
- Best Square by an Artist Under 12
The judging and vote tallies will be from August 3rd to the 4th.
The winner for each category will be announced on Wednesday, August 5th.
The Chalk Walk at Home was #ArtStartsHere and Fort Wayne Museum of Art's response when hosting the large crowds that usually come to the annual Chalk Walk would have been too big to be safe.
