FWPD detectives make arrest in E. Lewis fatal shooting

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) - Fort Wayne Homicide Detectives arrested a murder suspect overnight in connection to a shooting that left two hurt and one man dead last month.

Darrius Holliness, 28, is now charged with murder, criminal recklessness committed with a deadly weapon and possession of cocaine.

Detectives said there was a large party on July 26 of about 100 people when gunfire rang out, hitting three people.

Medics rushed two people to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while one man was mortally wounded.

Frederick D. Sanders, 29, was shot multiple times and died from his wounds, the Allen County Coroner said.

Detectives arrested Holliness Wednesday evening without incident.
