Widespread damage reported after evening storms

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) - A storm brought strong winds, heavy rain and funnel clouds to much of Northeast Indiana.

Ominous clouds ushered in heavy winds. Most damage reports involve toppled trees blocking roads or pulling down power lines.

Indiana Michigan Power reports more than 20,000 customers in Indiana are without power as of 9:00 pm.

Authorities in Huntington County are dealing with structure damage and downed trees. Large branches came down on houses in Roanoke. Police reported power lines down and obstructing State Road 9 north of Huntington.

Trees were reported down at Winona Lake and a car was reported flipped at the Blue Lake Campground near Churubusco. Camper trailers were also reported damaged or destroyed in the area.

Significant damage to storefronts was reported in Kendallville.

There are also reports of a semi truck blown over near Woodburn in Allen County.

East Noble School Corporation will begin on a two-hour delay on Tuesday because of a power outage and storm damage.
